There’s décor we like, and then there’s décor we can’t. stop. thinking. about. Every week we showcase an item the team is currently obsessing over, aka a “Funk favorite.” With the new year comes new vibes. Whether it’s implementing a new diet, new habits, or new décor, the new year is a time for a fresh start. We don’t know about you, but once January 1st rolls around, we’re ready for some updates. And right now, this statement-making mirror is high on our list of must-haves.
Janice Minor’s White “Porcupine Quill” Mirror, available from Horchow, is a total showstopper. It’s handcrafted of wood and wrought iron, and makes for a great conversation piece. It’s perfect for an entryway, but would do equally well in a chic dining room.
A little background on Janice Minor: The company was founded in 1986, with Janice drawing inspiration from her travels. According to the brand’s website:
“Janice Minor, the woman behind it all, along with her husband Paul Minor pioneered the use of mixed media, recycled glass, gemstones and petrified wood—along with the staple wrought iron and rattan—in order to create sophisticated and unique furniture pieces that are of world-class quality.”
We couldn’t agree more. We agree with one of Horchow’s design mantras that “a mirror is lighting without a bulb.”
