There’s decor I like, and then there’s decor I can’t. stop. thinking. about. Every week I showcase items the team is currently obsessing over, aka a “Funk Favorite.” Today, the spotlight shines on the smooth, vintage-inspired contours of the Gianni Stands: luxurious, made-to-order side tables that are sure to enhance any Mid-century-styled room.
NYC-based Studio Van Den Akker is a big player in the design industry with a venerable history. Founders Rob Copley and Ray Raymakers both made the transition from fashion design to curated antiques. Their studio developed organically out of the demand for tailor-made pieces that match the quintessential Van Den Akker aesthetic, and the results are astounding. Designed by Sean Robins and Rob Copley, the Gianni Stands embody the company vision of melding high-concept pieces with historical truth.
Available in a veritable rainbow of high-quality metals and treatments, these three-pronged side tables can be customized for any color scheme. The carved wood surfaces come in ash, walnut, or a number of special-order timbers, and the stands themselves can be ordered as a set or individually. Botanical silhouettes lend themselves to the stylishly variant heights, and the whole set would bloom in a thoughtfully designed living space.
